If you love a good deal, a little adrenaline, and discovering hidden gems from your couch… let me introduce you to one of my newest guilty pleasures: Whatnot 🛍️
At first, I went in just curious. Now? I’ve scored brand new Adidas and Nike for $5, and yes — I’ve even won brand new shoes for $1. ONE. DOLLAR. 😅👏
So if you’re thinking about hopping on Whatnot (or you already are), here’s what I’ve learned along the way:
You do pay about $9.21 for shipping at first, but here’s the magic: shipping bundles up to 5 lbs. That means you can grab multiple items and still pay that same flat rate — which can end up being a lot of stuff for one shipping charge. Total game changer.
There’s a strategy called being a swipe sniper — in sudden death auctions, you wait until the very last second to bid so no one has time to outbid you. It works beautifully there.
But heads up: if it’s not sudden death, that tactic is basically pointless. People will just bid right back.

I try to stay out of shows with 200+ people. Why? Because bids usually climb fast, and suddenly you’re paying close to retail — which defeats the whole point. Smaller rooms = better deals.
A seller can be entertaining and still sell junk. Also, don’t trust ratings blindly — Whatnot’s rating system is very relaxed. I personally avoid sellers under 4.8 stars.
That said, Whatnot’s customer service is actually amazing. If a seller is being a stinker, Whatnot usually steps in and works with buyers. Big win. 🙌
Bookmark your favorite sellers’ shows — seriously. If you don’t, you will miss some incredible deals.
And bonus tip: new sellers usually have the BEST prices because they’re trying to build their audience.
